Hallowha?

So it came and went, a show about around Halloween-like times, and we played it.  And there was ART.  Not much to it, fantastic pic of Lon Chaney from a no-longer-exitstent film, tinted for the season.

Empty Back Pocket

We've done quite a few fundraisers for Benton County Skateboarding Alliance, which led me to stash this image away at some point.  They usually take care of all the promo, but this time it was not so, so I stepped up to throw down.  Always reticent to cash in that backup plan but I like where this one went.

A Little More Effort

I started working on this robot last time, putting an accordion in it's mitts, but that didn't click, so I went the bent puppets on TV route instead.
This time the robot found a home via a wrist radio call from an enthusiastic etherbroadcaster (no gender puns intended).  I like it.

Gotta Show

Went down a nowhere road before giving up and going here.  The overlaid faces are the only reason for this.  The face that emerges from the two belies intent.

Halloweeeeeeen!!!!

Once the gig was in the bag I knew I needed to make an effort, unlike some of my more recent "works".  I had a source image, but what to make of it?  Not easy to translate, as the original was in sorry shape.  But in the end I can call it ART.

Show's A'Comin'

So, once again I was pretty sure I wasn't going to be making a poster for the upcoming show. Then I decided to create a better fb event image. Then, since I burned an image on that image, I imagined myself right into making a poster.  It's OK.

Back At It

Another show, another poster, and as I greased the elbows for this one, here's the gist - the end followed by the means:

There Were Shows

And so there were stickers.  No posterwork so these were free-floaters:

There Was A Show

There were a couple of shows that were supposed to happen and didn't.  In anticipation I executed an idea for a sticker that I had, but kept not using as the shows disappeared.  The third show actually happened.  Barely.  So sticker became real.

It's Growing On Me

This latest attempt was another desperate grasp at something I knew not.  My lack of nuts and bolts knowledge led to a spiffy start becoming a dimmed shadow of itself.  But I carried on and it came out pretty and a little mesmerizing at times.  I had to add the alien from the pulp sci-fi cover I'd run across just because he was needed -if not thematically- then simply to be.

Procrastin-, Desper-, Inspir- ATION

I put this one off for quite a while, no ideas were coming and the time was going.  I could say that I should have done it a week earlier than I did, that's what I said at the time.  But then it wouldn't have been this and it only happens the one way so why not let it go?

The album cover had been in the pic collection for a while and I needed it now.  Then what?  What could you possibly do with this?  Remember there's another band we don't know on here too, so try to imagine what they wouldn't hate.....

      Dog face.

Hunt down dog faces, place one and see.

Now all the implications...  Just the one dog face is interesting double-take bait, but damn my sentimental hide if I didn't feel sorry for the one girl I went and dogged up.  All the girls?  That sent some kinda message I don't even know what but I wasn't sending it.  So all faces then, and the workload piles up.

But as I'm putting it all together I'm messing with the opacity of the dog faces and notice that it's kind of cool to still see the original faces underneath, and so a lot of time is spent trying to find the perfect blend.  Oh, and the glasses were a given.

After the inevitable font hunt, a little spiritual adjustment, and other tricks for myself, we have flyer.  And dang if it isn't kinda nifty.

As Weird As I Can Make It

Another show, another poster, this time from the photo booth outside of time and space.

Mishmash Again

This one was a pile of pieces, thrown together and then, by trying to figure out how to cram them all in, stumbling across some type of weird meaning that makes it all fit.  Sort of.

     Elements:

      The result:

The story here is a cautionary one about legal weed.

The hat was the last addition, tying it in with the recent Rifftrax holiday show that featured a mind-bending short saturated with monkeys.

I always regret that the printed version is never as vibrant as these digital images.  Some day I'll figure out how to compensate....
